And okay, maybe by the third generator room, he's got a decent idea of what needs to be done, but in the first one? How did he know plugging in those wires wouldn't blow him up? Or, heck, maybe the Nihilanth makes the portal himself! But this? Seriously, it's just freeman messing around with wires that he's got no idea what they do, just hoping he does something right. How was Gordon supposed to know that was what he had to do? I mean, I enjoyed these puzzles immensely, but for once, the original HL makes a little more sense: you head inside the star island, break some stuff, and I guess accidentally destabilize space enough or something to form the portal. So we just kinda go and fiddle with some wiring in another room to open a door to find the missing crystal, and. The problem most likely has to do with that missing third crystal there on the ceiling. To continue publishing, please remove it or upload a different image. Oops! So we head to the first room, and the problem, as far as Freeman's untrained-in-alien-tech eyes can tell, sure, generator rooms, and repair the alien generators to get the crystal-lasers firing again to make the portal. So I hope that suffices, and I'll probably just start foregoing intros in future chapters.īecause I wanna talk about Black Mesa, not come up with intros!Īt any rate, in order to get that big portal up and running, you've got to visit three different. Listen, I spent like five minutes trying to come up with something to say here, some sort of intro or something, but I got nothing.
